The tour guide will meet you at your hotel one day before your tour to give you a briefing. They will tell you all about your tour, and answer any questions you may have. It is important to us that you ask any questions you may have so the tour guide will get you ready for your amazing tour.

DAY 1 – CUSCO – Zurite – QUILLARUMIYOC – TARAWASI – CHONTA.
We will pick you up from any hotel in Cusco with our private transportation at 6a.m. to start with our journey to the route of the Condors Apurimac Canyon. We will drive around 4 hours until we reach chonta village where we will start with our expeditions of the condors. We will have breakfast nearby zurite village (the first Inca site), so our chef will prepare delicious breakfast for you. Before Chonta village we’ll visit 3 Inca sites called Zurite (Inca agriculture terraces), Quillarumiyoq (moon temple), and Tarawasi (Inca palace).
Along the journey, you will be watching beautiful landscapes along of our journey, the natural paradise of the Mountains Salkantay Mountain (6200m/19840ft), Humantay Mountain (5770m/18464), Padrilloq Mountain (5600m/17920ft), Chicon Mountain (5650m/18080ft). And also along the way we will stop at key points for spectacular views of the Limatambo valley.
Nearby tarawasi we will have lunch in one local area which is not far from Limatambo town with great views. Our chef will prepare our delicious buffet + cold water + hot tea.
Following you will drive 40 more minutes until reach our camp site to the charming Andean village called Chonta (3450m/11,040ft), on the way driving we will stop to take more photos of this fabulous area. This camping place has gorgeous and incredible views as well. And later at camp will visit one of the local families of Chonta village to interact with the locals, and learn all about their culture, because these people are still practicing Inca traditions, and they are still speaking Quechua.
So if you want to share something with them, everything will be welcome to them, special for the local children (social projects for the local school). You will learn many aspects of the different indigenous groups that inhabit these places.
Our professional tour guide will explain the history background and you give you all the details of this fabulous place. You don’t have to rush; you take your time to enjoy it every single places of this amazing tour.
After this activity we go back to our camp site to enjoy happy hour and dinner.

DAY 2 CHONTA – LOOKOUT OF THE CONDOR- AND BACK TO CUSCO:
Wake up time will be with the incredible Coca tea in your tent like room service at 6:00a.m. Our chef will make an amazing breakfast to start our journey to the Apurimac Canyon ‘lookout of the Condor’. After breakfast we’ll walk for around 1 hour until we reach the look out of the Condors. Along the way you will be able to see more spectaculars views of the mountains, the Apurimac valley, the Apurimac canyon, Apurimac river and much more and trail is almost flat.
Once we arrive to the viewpoint, your tour guide will take you to best spot to watch and take photos of the Condors. You just need to wait until the condors fly towards the Apurimac valley and flying above you. This spectacular moment is memorable; to watch the condor through the mountains is a unique experience ever.
According the history the condor was the sacred animal for our ancestors, because the condor is able to fly all the up to 6000m, 7000m, and eve hither than this elevation, so our ancestors believed that the condor was representing the spiritual life, they thought the condors were the messengers between two worlds, spiritual world and humans’ world.
So that’s why the condors are very special inn the Andes. While you will be watching the condor, your tour guide will offer you the amazing coca tea to celebrate this memorable moment. Don’t forget your coca leaves for your offering to the condor, that is the best way to start watching condors. After 2 or 3 hours we will walk back, the way we came to Chonta village for our lunch.
Unfortunately after lunch you bid farewell to the village of chonta and take our private transportation back to Cusco for 3 more hours. Time arrival time to Cusco at 7p.m. all our transportation is back to your hotel.

These are all King Camp Tents made for all seasons, and the Thermarest Luxury Air Matts are included. Our rentals are top of the line: Black Diamond Adjustable Walking Sticks . Sleeping Bags rented from us are mummy style down bags for -15C and liners are always included.
Every trek includes a chef that has been trained in culinary school. They have learned the magic of mountain cooking and you will be amazed. You will enjoy full breakfast, lunch and dinner all served hot and tasty. We also include Happy Hour with snacks and some hot tea before dinner. The key to feeling good on a trek like this is eating well and staying hydrated.
