Program: CUSCO – QUILLARUMIYOC – TARAWASI – CHONTA The route of the Condors – CUSCO.

We will pick you up from any hotel in Cusco with our private transportation at 7a.m. to start with our journey to the route of the Condors Apurimac Canyon. We will drive around 4 hours until we reach chonta village where we will start with our expeditions of the condors.

Our professional chef will prepare a delicious breakfast nerarby Quillarumiyoc. Before Chonta village we’ll visit 2 Inca sites called Quillarumiyoq (moon temple)and Tarawasi (Inca palace), you will be watching beautiful landscapes along of our journey, the natural paradise of the Mountains Salkantay Mountain (6200m/19840ft), Humantay Mountain (5770m/18464), Padrilloq Mountain (5600m/17920ft), Chicon Mountain (5650m/18080ft).

Along the way we will stop at key points for spectacular views of the Limatambo valle. And eventually the natural paradise ‘the valley of the condors’. You will learn many aspects of the different indigenous groups that inhabit these places. Our professional tour guide will explain and you give you all the details of this fabulous place. Take your time and enjoy every moment of this amazing expedition.


Once we arrive in the indigenous community called Chonta (3450m/11,040ft). Here in Chonta village our chef will prepare our delicious buffet lunch and also you get the amazing coca tea. After lunch will walk for 1 hour in order to get the look out of the Apurimac River, along the trail you will appreciate the high Mountain, the Apurimac valley, the Apurimac canyon, the incredible vegetation, and much more.

Once we arrive at the look out ‘mirador of Condors’, we’ll get the best spot to watch the majestic flight of the Condors through the Apurimac Canyon and flying above you. At look out we’ll stay more 2 hours to observe the incredible Condors and to take all the photos you need it. While you will be appreciating the majestic Condor, your tour guide will offer you the amazing coca tea to celebrate this moment. We high recommend you to take some Coca leaves for some offerings, that is the best way to watch the condor.


The Andean condor (Vultur gryphus) is a South American bird in the New World vulture family Cathartidae and is the only member of thegenus Vultur. Found in the Andes mountains and adjacent Pacific coasts of western South America, the Andean condor is the largest flying bird in the world by combined measurement of weight and wingspan. It has a maximum wingspan of 3.3 m (10 ft 10 in) exceeded only by the wingspans of four seabirds and water birds—the roughly 3.5 m (11 ft 6 in) maximum of the wandering albatross, southern royal albatross,  and Dalmatian pelican.

Be honest i was really impressive to see the amazing landscape, the views is the best and being in the Apurimac canyon to watch the spectacular Condors above you is the impressive. After this amazing moment we’ll go back to the trail we came to Chonta village. Here we’ll take our private transportation back to Cusco for 2 ½ hours. All our transportation back to Cusco will be to your hotel. Arrival time to Cusco is at 7:30p.m.

Every camping tour includes a spacious 4 man tent that will be shared by only two people so you can spread out a bit. These are all King Camp Tents made for all seasons, and the Thermarest Luxury Air Matts are included. Our rentals are top of the line: Black Diamond Adjustable Walking Sticks . Sleeping Bags rented from us are mummy style down bags for -15C and liners are always included.

Food

Every trek includes a chef that has been trained in culinary school. They have learned the magic of mountain cooking and you will be amazed. You will enjoy full breakfast, lunch and dinner all served hot and tasty. We also include Happy Hour with snacks and some hot tea before dinner. The key to feeling good on a trek like this is eating well and staying hydrated.

Meals are all served family style - large plates for everyone to take what they like. And all food restrictions are honored. No matter if you are vegetarian or gluten free, you will always be well fed.
